Web Cookies And Data Storage

The Elephant In The Corner Service is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. For more information about how cookies are managed, please see the official Wix Cookie Policy web page where you can find further detail.

Data/Information Held About You
When you contact me, I collect necessary personal details (name, email, phone) solely to address your inquiry, deleting this data afterward unless you become a client, in which case it is securely stored. Records regarding appointment dates and payment details are maintained. All information is handled confidentially and is not shared without consent, unless legally required or necessary for safety reasons.

How The Information Is Used

I maintain these records to provide professional therapy and ensure the best possible service for you. Your information is strictly used for therapy purposes and referrals, treated with absolute confidentiality. I will not share it with anyone without your consent unless required by law or in cases of serious safety concern, where your well-being is my top priority.

How The Information Is Stored
The information is securely stored to prevent unauthorised access, and I follow strict procedures to protect the data I collect.

Duration Of Information Retention
I must retain your information for at least 7 years after your last therapy session. After this period, electronic records will be deleted, and paper records will be securely destroyed through shredding or burning.

Contact Protocol

I may reach out to you when necessary, such as sending appointment reminders, providing requested information, or responding to your messages via our website's contact form, email, or text. I may also check in with you if you've missed a session or haven't been in touch to ensure your safety or discuss continuing therapy.

Your Rights and Complaints

Under data protection laws, you have rights including the right to access, rectify, or request the erasure of your personal data. Please note that as a therapy service, I may be legally required to retain essential clinical records for 7 years to fulfill professional and legal obligations.

If you have any questions, concerns, or wish to exercise your data rights, please contact me directly at theelephantinthecorner@outlook.com so we can resolve the matter immediately.

You also maintain an absolute, unconditional right to lodge a complaint at any time with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk).
